In a historic move aimed at supporting families across the city, New York City has officially rolled out a Universal Paid Family Leave program for all residents. Announced on January 12, 2025, the initiative guarantees up to 12 weeks of paid leave for workers taking time off to care for a newborn, adopt a child, or assist a family member in need of medical care.
